THE AIA CELEBRATES ITS 150TH ANNIVERSARY
IN THE LONE STAR STATE

Cinco de Mayo will mean much more this year to the over 20,000 attendees that will be in San Antonio, Texas during May 3rd through the 5th for the AIA National Convention.  The event is made that much more special as it arrives during the midst of AIA150: The sesquicentennial anniversary of the American Institute of Architects.

This year’s program theme is “Growing Beyond Green,” as expo exhibitors, speakers and continuing education events will focus heavily on the issue of sustainability in architectural design.

For AIA members who reside in the State of Texas, this event is that much more important as it highlights the Lone Star State in both its natural and built beauty.  AIA Lubbock encourages all local AIA members who can attend to make the effort to be there in May to represent their chapter and their state during this exciting celebration.

Convention attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy the sights, sounds and venues of the city upon the riverwalk.  To learn more about how to register, housing and hospitality accommodations, continuing education events, and more about this year’s convention theme “Growing Beyond Green,” go online to www.aiaconvention.com.
